How does Google treat the symbols ® and ™ if they are part of keyword?
-
For example:
As a keyword, is "Cisco
" the same as "Cisco"?I tried a couple of things to find out:
1. I put both keywords in Google adwords tool. Google displayed search volume data only for Cisco. That means it ignores the
symbol.2. I typed in Cisco
and Cisco in Google search.of SERPs are the same. And the first page results are almost same excpet for Google Places listings.
Based on above two observations, I think that Google treats Cisco
and Cisco in the same manner. So if we optimize a page for Cisco
, we will get benefit for the keyword Cisco as well.Does anybody has any other experience?
(Note: the keyword used here(Cisco) is just an example.
Thanks,
Supriya.

Thanks Daniel! The reason I was asking is if we use keywords w/o trademark symbols
we may run into legal issues hence we were thinking of optimizing the page for keyword with
symbol in it. -
Google strips special characters out of search. For one, no one in a million years will do a search with Google and include a trademark symbol anyway. But if they did for some reason, Google would simply strip it out. You do not need to optimize for keywords with special characters. Just optimize for the keyword itself and you will be fine.

Minor languages keyword research
Hello, I am in charge of doing a keyword research for several small countries in Europe, namely Hungary, Estonia and Latvia.
Keyword Research | | Lvet
I normally use the Keyword planner for Google Ads, but for Hungarian, Estonian and Latvian this tools seems to find no results for the keywords related to my websites. For example, in Hungarian the keyword "ajak toltoanyagok" ("lip fillers" in English) doesn't give any results (and yes, I am targeting my searches to Hungary and Hungarian). I have the same problems with Latvian and Estonian. Is there another tool that I could use and that could give me better results? Help! Cheers Luca rONwtZt0 -

Multilingual keyword research
Does anyone have any experience in multilingual SEO? We are looking for software that conducts research for GEO Locations such as UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan & India. Writing content for each of these countries is difficult unless we speak their language, we could look at outsourcing the translation but conducting keyword research for each location is almost impossible.

Helpful to utilize long-tail keyword URLs to point to parts of your website?
Does it help, hurt or do nothing for SEO to utilize long-tail keyword URLs to point to specific pages of your website. For example, you're a vet and have your business name website, but what if you bought: CharlotteVeterinarianforCats.com CharlotteVeterinarianforDogs.com etc. and pointed them to specific pages in your business website.

How do you limit the number of keywords that will be researched
I'm working with a client who has a website, but doesn't really have a clearly defined idea of who their key audience is nor do they know what keyword phrases they would like to rank for. I know that I can generate a starting list by reviewing their site, but I want to set some parameters on it so I can provide an accurate estimate. I'm looking for suggestions on how to do this.
