Soft Hyphenation: Influence on Search Engines

Does anyone have experience on soft hyphenation and its effects on rankings?
We are planning to use in our company blog to improve the layout. Currently, every word above 4 syllable will be soft hyphenated.
This seems to render okay in all browsers, but it might be a problem with IE9...In HTML 5, the "" soft hyphenation seems to be replaced with the <wbr> Tag (http://www.w3schools.com/html5/tag_wbr.asp) and i don't find anything else about soft-hyphenation in the specs.
Any experiences or opinions about this? Do you think it affects rankings if there are a lot of soft hyphens in the text?
Does it still make sense to use or would you switch to <wbr> already?

Thanks for your thoughts. Personally I don't think we need this but people from corporate communication somehow got stuck on this idea. See if I can scare them out of it by mentioning load time...

Whew, had to go google that one - soft hyphenation for the lulz! No, I would expect no effect, or no measurable effect. As a standard part of grammar so I would expect search engines to deal with this as natural language
btw, I have seen this in action in the past and its made the text look worse, been an unnecessary extra load & gone wrong quite a bit, requiring troubleshooting and maintenance (was from a plugin tho)

Website Snippet Update in Search Console?
I have a company that I started working with that has an outdated and inaccurate snippet coming up. See the link below. They changed their name from DK on Pittsburgh Sports to just DK Pittsburgh Sports several years ago, but the snippet is still putting the old info, including outdated and incorrect description. I'm not seeing that title or description anywhere on the site or a schema plugin. How can we get it updated? I have updated titles, etc. for the home page, and done a Fetch to get re-indexed. How important is the optional <priority>tag in an XML sitemap of your website? Can this help search engines understand the hierarchy of a website?</priority>

Why is Google Displaying this image in the search results?
Hi i'm looking at advice on how to remove or change a particular image Google is displaying in the search results. I have attached a screenshot. From the first look of it, i assumed the image would be related and be on the dealers Google+ Local Page: https://plus.google.com/118099386834104087122/about?hl=en But there are no photos. The image seems to be coming from the website. Is there a way to stop Google from displaying this image or making them display a totally different image. Thanks, Chris XzfsnUy.png

Soft 404's from pages blocked by robots.txt -- cause for concern?
